Kathleen was my postpartum night doula for my daughter, and she was truly a lifesaver. She met us at home the very night we returned from the hospital and immediately stepped in so I could get much-needed rest — and so much more. She helped me navigate low milk supply (including figuring out a pumping routine), gave our daughter her first bath, trimmed her tiny nails, and guided us on the supplies we actually needed.

Our daughter often went through long stretches of crying and cluster feeding from 6–11pm, but whenever Kathleen arrived, she would settle almost instantly in her arms. It was incredible to watch. Kathleen also gently helped her get comfortable sleeping in her crib, and by six weeks she was doing longer stretches at night (up to six hours!).

Friends and neighbors couldn’t believe how much energy I had as a brand-new postpartum mom, and I attribute that entirely to Kathleen’s steady, expert support. I’m about to have my second baby and feel so reassured knowing Kathleen will be with us again. I truly cannot recommend her highly enough.

My family worked with Kathleen in the summer of 2025, after the birth of our second baby girl. We’ve worked with a few night doulas in the past–and by far, Kathleen is the most highly skilled of them all. She has a wealth of knowledge given her extensive, decades-long experience, and she also has a brilliant temperament and kind, easygoing nature that makes working with her a joy.

By the first night of working with Kathleen, we were immediately at ease. She swaddled our baby with expertise–by far, the best banket swaddle we’ve ever seen!–and reassuringly sent us to rest. Through the course of the weeks, our baby went from doing four hour stretches to eight or more.
Kathleen’s experience allows her to be nimble and specific with each baby; she identified our baby’s natural preferences when it came to sleeping, and made sure to emphasize those so our baby was as happy as possible. She is not one-size-fits-all–she understands, as every parent does, that each baby and family is different.

Kathleen also went above and beyond being a night doula, providing welcome recommendations for baby’s next stages in life. Having had tried different brands and products throughout the decades, she knows the best ones to use.

And because the nature of night doula care is so intimate and sensitive, an excellent one is not just skilled and reputable, but also possesses strong interpersonal skills–and that is exactly Kathleen. She is warm, non-judgmental, proactive, collaborative, all traits that set her heads and shoulders above the average doula. She is not unilateral or presumptive, and offers guidance gently. Kathleen is also just fun to talk to; I greatly enjoyed chatting with her at night, sometimes wishing I could stay longer just to hang out (but of course she encouraged me to rest as much as I could as a new mom!)

Additionally, she is punctual, usually arriving early every night, and very clean.

My family slept very well every single night Kathleen was at our home as we knew we could sincerely trust her with our baby. And outside of our family, Kathleen was the first person our baby smiled and cooed at–a true testament to her.

Having the warm and expert support of Kathleen as our night doula was the best decision I made postpartum. Her passion for newborn care shined through in her effortless connection with my daughter. With this being my second baby and no family in-state I knew I’d benefit from a doula’s emotional support in the early days. I found Kathleen’s friendly, honest, and practical advice and conversations immensely valuable. With 20 years of experience and three kids of her own she made me comfortable to chat about anything. She is professional, punctual, and responsive. I really appreciated how she was proactive in introducing herself to our other doula to connect and coordinate schedules. Also, while she’d share her thoughts on schedule or feeding approach she was always supportive of my decisions and recorded clear notes of the night. Her presence allowed me to rest easy knowing my daughter was safe and being doted on. I was elated to wake up to a tidy space with clean pump parts and bottles for the day ahead. Kathleen is a wonderfully caring person with a great sense of humor. I wish for all new moms the support of a doula like Kathleen.

We had a wonderful experience with Kathleen, and cannot recommend her enough!! From the very first night, she made us feel at ease, providing our son with the best care while allowing us to rest and recover.

Kathleen was always friendly, patient, and nurturing, treating our baby with the same love and attentiveness as if he were her own. She also took the time to educate and support us as new parents, offering guidance and bringing a warm and calming presence to our home.

Kathleen was very personable and great to chat with, while also being extremely punctual and professional. She always arrived exactly 15 minutes early, no matter rain or shine and regardless of how bad the parking/traffic situation was in our neighborhood in SF. We would count down the minutes until she arrived, knowing that we would finally be able to sleep and depend on her to take care of our son for the night ahead.

We highly recommend Kathleen to any family looking for an experienced, caring, and dedicated night nurse. She was an absolute blessing to our family!
