About
Hi! I’m Kim, I’m a birth doula.
I was trained through DONA and had the privilege to be part of the UCSF doula program where I participated in countless unique birth settings. I am a life long learner and I am both honored and grateful to have worked alongside many other amazing birth workers during this extraordinary experience.
I approach birth work with compassionate, evidence based care. If you have a question about your pregnancy, birth or just something you heard in your social group, let’s talk about it. As a certified childbirth educator, I give you the real knowledge you need to make your own well-informed decisions.
As a young birthing person, I personally experienced the trauma of fetal demise. Buckled with my own lack of knowledge, my inexperience, the lack of care from the medical staff and my inability to speak up, I was left with years of post-traumatic distress. Having now processed my own, wounding experiences, I can firmly, respectfully and confidently advocate for other birthing families with extraordinary compassion. I also bring tender comfort and maintain exceptional dignity during this very sensitive time. I have a (now grown and flown) Rainbow Baby, which allows me to uniquely connect with families who may be experiencing the emotional anxiety in their pregnancy after a loss.
I also bring my real life experience of at-home insemination and understand the challenges and complexity of this broad spectrum of options in family planning.
Whether you are planning an unmedicated birth, an epidural, or a planned cesarean, I provide the guidance and support you need to help you and your partner feel safe, confident and relaxed about your birth experience. Regardless of the way you choose to give birth, you deserve dignity, respect and to maintain agency over your choices.
Visit my website to read the feedback from dozens of families I have supported and let’s discuss how I can best support you!
