Laura is a postpartum doula and newborn sleep coach. She’s a natural caregiver and always knew that working with newborn babies was not only a passion of hers but also a gift. After working as a nanny for over 13 years, she decided that becoming a postpartum doula was the next step in her career.
Knowing that the first weeks postpartum are so important to a baby and parents’ well-being, Laura finds her job as a postpartum doula very rewarding. In her work with newborns, she has helped parents set up nurseries and organize their homes to create the right environment for them and their baby, she has supported mothers with breastfeeding, basic baby care, sleep support, and because of her calming and nurturing personality she has been a source of comfort and good information for the whole family in times of stress.
As a postpartum doula, Laura provides emotional, physical and educated guidance to new parents after the birth of their baby. Her support is nonjudgmental, compassionate, nurturing and working with each family’s need.
Ways she can provide postpartum support:
-Teach newborn care, tend to your baby’s needs
-Assistance on breastfeeding and postpartum recovery
-Help with feeding plan to allow new moms to maximize their sleep
-Advice and assistance on including partners with the caring of the baby
-Establish healthy sleep routines for the baby to minimize the need for a sleep consultant later on.
Laura is looking forward to bringing parents and their babies the care and support they deserve in the first wonderful and sometimes bewildering weeks of a baby’s life.
