Having a child is one of the most monumental, exciting and life-changing experiences we can go through. It can also be a time of increased anxiety, fear and uncertainty. Whether you had an easy time conceiving or have been struggling with fertility issues and losses, feelings can come up that are complex, confusing and worth talking about.
Losing a pregnancy, no matter at what stage, is one of the most devastating experiences. Sadly, as common as pregnancy losses are, they are often not talked about and women end up feeling alone, ashamed and confused by their grief. No one should go through this alone and therapy can be a place to express and help navigate these complex feelings.
Therapy postpartum can provide a space to process the birth (whether it was traumatic or relatively smooth), normalize the roller coaster of hormones and emotions, and help you transition into your new life and role as a parent.
