Postpartum Doula Services (Day or Night) for All Families
Michele Cooke: Certified Postpartum Doula and Certified Lactation Education Counselor
As a Postpartum Doula, I work with families during the first three months after birth. Each family has different needs so I continually communicate and adjust to meet those needs as they change over time. I help birth moms rest and recover, assist with breastfeeding and bottle feeding, store pumped milk and sanitize pump parts. I help babies establish a good sleep routine, burp, change, and resettle back to sleep after feedings. While you’re both resting, I help with household tasks like tidying and organizing, make healthy snacks and beverages and prep your morning so you have an easy start to the day. I can assist with sibling care and errands outside the home. For those with anxiety or postpartum mood changes, I can be an empathetic listener, offer encouragement or help with resources for extra support as needed. Occasionally I work with babies up to year old who are experiencing sleep regression.
Families who have a new baby through adoption or surrogate can also use support as they transition into their new lives together. Sleep deprivation, inexperience, or a sense of feeling overwhelmed can all be relieved with the help of a doula.
A doula is like having an extra, helpful family member on hand who can answer questions, help problem solve and coach you into feeling confident as a parent.
