About

Hi! I'm Heather. I received a doctorate of acupuncture and Chinese medicine from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine here in San Francisco. I'm currently practicing at Back to Health with Acupuncture in the mission district and will soon be taking patients in Marin county as well. I offer acupuncture, cupping therapy and lifestyle and nutritional counseling from a Chinese medicine perspective.

In my 6 years of clinical experience, I have treated a variety of health conditions but I'm most passionate about working with people who are pregnant, in the postpartum phase or even years into parenthood. As a mother, I can easily relate to the joys but also to the demands of parenthood. It is truly rewarding to me to offer you space to be heard and provide the extra care that every parent needs. While I typically treat new mothers, I believe that any person in a care giving role can benefit from receiving acupuncture.

Traditional Chinese medicine offers many tools that can help support you in any stage of parenting. Acupuncture is just one of those tools and has been proven safe and effective for treating common issues that may arise during pregnancy such as:

  • morning sickness
  • low back and hip pain
  • pelvic pain
  • fatigue and sleep issues
  • stress and anxiety

During the postpartum phase, acupuncture and herbal medicine can nourish the new mother and can help with the following:

  • speed up recovery time
  • promote or stop lactation
  • muscle aches and pain
  • mental and emotional wellness

Whether you are a new parent or have been doing this for years, tending to your own needs and taking care of your mental and physical health is vital. I'd love to be part of your care team!
