About
I am a Natural Resources trained Postpartum Doula and a Mother of a 2 year old boy. Becoming a Mother is what inspired me the most to become a Postpartum Doula but I have always been a nurturing, empathetic type of person naturally.
I truly feel like I have the best job in the world and absolutely love going to work and getting to help other families feel supported through such a delicate early postpartum time where help is invaluable. I absolutely love being able to teach baby tips and tricks as well as share my knowledge of newborns and their care with new parents.
In my role as a Postpartum Doula I offer emotional and physical and educational support. Some of these areas include breastfeeding, pumping, diet, establishing routine, baby laundry, light food preparation, bath time, diapering, soothing techniques, changing, playtime as well as making sure the Mother is feeling as comfortable, well nourished, relaxed, rested and supported as possible.
I was the youngest of 7 children in my family and have 20 plus nieces and nephews so have been raised around lots of babies and in a very child-centric household, lots of baby sitting and helping out with little ones which has helped me have way with babies and children. It truly does take a village with a baby but a postpartum Doula certainly helps too!
I also grew up in a very healthy, conscious, caring, and nurturing environment, and there was no question that my journey would lead me back to nurturing babies and families.
I understand that being a new parent can be an overwhelming emotional experience and as a parent, we need all the help, love and support we can get. When working with clients I am free of judgements or agenda, and always do my best to provide support in whatever beliefs the family has.
It is my honor to help create a positive and empowering postpartum experience by sharing educational information as well as emotional and physical support during this major new life journey.
My goal as your Postpartum Doula is to help you navigate day to day early parenthood challenges with guidance, support and safety so you can thrive and settle into parenthood with confidence.
In order to stay abreast with practices, I have taken a Newborn Sleep Training Course as well as Postpartum Nutrition Class. I am CPR/ First Aid and AED certified via the American Red Cross as well as a course through Natural Resources. I am always actively learning and expanding my knowledge by participating in group meetings with post partum educators, lacatation consultants and various Doula groups.
I have assisted over 40 families within the Bay Area in my time working as a Postpartum Doula and will be happy to provide references of families I have worked with.
In my free time I love spending time playing and engaging with my son, traveling when time permits, gardening, exploring new beaches and hiking trails with my family and staying active and healthy. I also love fashion design and have a line of baby clothes that is always growing aswell.
Please feel free to email me and I would be happy to set up a time for a virtual chat via facetime or Zoom.
